2 Samuel 9... Title:
Dropped, But Not Forgotten!
Introduction:
David had been crowned King and he remembered a covenant he made to God and Jonathon. He promised to take care of any family member of Jonathon for the kindness that he had showed to him. He asked if their were anyone still alive from Jonathan's family that he could bless. They found a man by the name of Mephibeseth who was lame because he was dropped by his nurse as she fled an enemy army. As a result of this incident, Mephibeseth was left disabled in both legs. God did not allow David to forget his promise and Mephibeseth was about to get blessed and promoted.
You are about to get promoted in spite of your problems!
We have all been knocked down in life due to circumstances and situations that were out of our control, but thanks to God in moments we have been dropped, God has not forgotten us... In most cases the moments we felt our lowest, when we trusted God, God used those moments as launching pads!
You may have been dropped and you may be walking with a limp, but God will transform your difficulties into divine blessings!
Key Thought:
Broken places can be turned into blessings.
Key thought:
Sin caused us to be disabled, but Jesus Christ paid the price for us to be delivered.
Key thought:
Difficult times can turn into dynamic blessings when we come to Jesus.
Key thought:
Grace works all things together for our good and God's glory.
Key thought:
Gods promises to us will fulfill God's purpose as we obey God's word,
Remember this...
God has the power to take us from:
Poverty to the Palace!
Pain to Purpose!
Problems to experiencing God's Promises
Key thought:
God carries and cares for His children who are committed to, and trust Him.
Key thought:
God's plan and purpose can bring you back to a position of promise.
Key thought:
God restores us back to royalty when we return to Him.
Key thought:
Gratitude causes God's love to be expressed in our attitudes, actions and behavior.
Key thought:
God will cause others to look on you with favor and compassion.
Key thought:
The love of the Lord lifts those who are low and look to Him.
Note:
Jesus carried on His shoulders the curse of our sin, so we could receive the blessing of salvation that could only come through Him.
Key thought:
Peace instead of panic is the result of God's presence.
Key thought:
God restored us to royalty when we come to or return to Him.
In closing...
What would you have thought if Mephibeseth would have turned the invitation and blessings from King David down?...
Yet many reject the offer King Jesus offers every Sunday.
Accept the invitation to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior today.
Dropped, but not forgotten!
Instead of forgotten, you have been forgiven!
